Paper Pumpkin Demo Day!

DemoHeader_PastKits_Demo_Feb18_NA

I’m so excited to announce my first ever FREE Stampin’ Up! event! On Monday, June 30, 2014 I am inviting everyone I know over to enjoy some fun and festive (think 4th of July-Independence Day!) Paper Pumpkin crafting! I’m calling this event Paper Pumpkin Demo Day because I want everyone to see all of the amazing possibilities that can be created with the monthly subscription of a Paper Pumpkin kit.

My kit just arrived in the mail! I’m so excited to start sharing it with all of my friends, but I don’t want to give away all of my surprises so I’m only going to post pictures of the kit. You will have to come to my event or check in afterwards to see the amazingly creative projects we make!

PaperPumpkinBox

Each month when your Paper Pumpkin box arrives in your mailbox you will open it to find a neatly wrapped craft project and a special little pumpkin note to thank you for your subscription.

PaperpumpkinFirstLayer

Once you open that first layer of Soft Sky tissue paper you will see some of the supplies you need to participate in a 30 minute creative escape! In this kit I got a Night of Navy Stampin’ Spot, a 3 piece Photopolymer Stamp Set, and several sheets of Mini Glue Dots.

PaperPumpkinJuneKit

Finally, when you tear open that last layer of tissue paper you get to see the good stuff. All of the supplies you will need to create a great project. In this kit I got 24 (yes you read that right, twenty-four) pinwheels, brads, paper clips, straws, and cellophane bags! It’s amazing the amount of goodies that are jam packed into this box!

Want in on this awesome monthly box of goodies! There are several ways to do this! My personal favorite way is to SUBSCRIBE to Paper Pumpkin with a month-to-month subscription or a prepaid subscription! My second favorite way is to come to my event, Paper Pumpkin Demo Day!

I hope to see you soon!

Viva la Verve Challenge

One of my goals this year with crafting is to ACTUALLY participate in the sketch and color challenges I watch on a regular basis. I often make a card that will meet the requirements, but I rarely actually post them to my blog let alone the challenge sites they come from.

VivaLaVerveChallengeJanuaryWeek1

This is my card for the Viva la Verve Challenge January Week 1 sketch and color challenge. I also made this card to meet the Diva Dare: Smitten Challenge.  For the sketch and color challenge I had some options, I could follow the sketch or color combo or both. I chose both and added the heart from my Verve Stamps Love Notes stamp set to meet the requirements for the Diva Dare: Smitten Challenge which was to use one verve product and create a card with a heart on it. I also used stamps from my Verve Stamps Stronger Love stamp set.

I love creating with the products that I love, which come from all different companies. In total I used 5 different companies products in this 1 card! I truly believe that using all the products you love all the time!

I am a big fan of Stampin’ Up! cardstock, it’s the best I have found. Their colors are rich and vibrant and fully saturated, plus the colors are on trend and match most of the DP I find that I love from other companies. For this card I used Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Baja Breeze (R) cardstock from Stampin’ Up!. I have a large stash…3 full packs…of Baja Breeze cardstock. I also used Real Red and Crumb Cake ink from Stampin’ Up!.

I’ve told you about 2 companies I used on this card, now for the other 3. I used MFT Stamps Red Hot grosgrain ribbon and Dienamics MINI tabs quartet. I used Echo Park All About A Boy DP. And Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, by Tsukineko.

Wow, that got a little wordy…sorry, but thanks for visiting today!

Busy Bee

I’ve be pretty busy preparing for my upcoming classes that I haven’t had much time to create new projects. I tried this technique a few weeks ago that I saw on SCS.

BohkaTechnique

While I don’t think my card turn out nearly as great at the tutorial author I am definitely interesting in giving this one another try soon! I’ve been trying lately to only use Stampin’ Up! products, but something I learned a long time ago about creativity…don’t limit your own creativity.

So in the next couple of weeks I will try to post both Stampin’ Up! product projects and non-SU projects….BUT I will tell you I use Stampin’ Up! products in combination with other products very often. I think that might be my favorite this about Stampin’ Up! It creates an awesome base of great products to use on all different cards and projects!

Thanks for visiting, come again soon!

Day 4: Christmas Card Sharing

I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t make you all wait until Monday! Here is the final color scheme of the DS128 cards for this Christmas season.

Christmas2013d

I saw this Echo Park music note paper at our LSS during a paper promotion and I couldn’t help but buy several sheets. It is perfect for the holiday season even if it is black!

I am so excited for everyone to get there cards soon! Hopefully I’ve gotten them all addressed and sent by now, but this year I’m not guaranteeing anything…I almost considered making Happy New Year cards because I felt so behind!

Create what you love! I’ll be back Monday (I hope) with some more crafty projects and cards. Also I have my new schedule up and ready to go so I’ll be sharing new classes and the schedule with everyone! Hope to see some of you real soon!

Day 3: Christmas Card Sharing

Christmas2013c

If you’ve been following since day one, you will notice I changed things up a bit for this card. I used a different accent stamp. While this ornament stamp and punch are retired from the Stampin’ Up! collection I still love and use them almost every Christmas. I even heard Mom say she might make this card next year…we all know that unless she starts right now she will change her mind before Christmas card season next year!

For this card I used DS128, again! But this time I used some Echo Park patterned paper that matched perfectly with the hoards of Ridinghood Red cardstock I had taking up space in my craft room. I’m sure I stocked up on retired colors for a reason, but when I replace old favorites with new favorites I can never remember why. Thankfully I was able to deplete my stock a little with this card.

Thanks for visiting today…check back tomorrow for day 4 of sharing! Maybe I’ll switch things up and show a project instead of a card…make everyone wait for the last card in the series! Like a winter finale of a television show…gosh I hate those so much!

Day 2: Christmas Card Sharing

Welcome back for Day 2 of my Christmas early release! Yesterday I shared with you the inspiration behind this years Christmas cards. I made 4 different color scheme cards this year using some of my favorite Stampin’ Up! products past and present and some of my favorite products from other companies.  I’m working on a way to share those products with you at the bottom of my blog posts, but if I’m being honest I first need to get on a good schedule for posts then I can worry about upgrading the content!

Christmas Card 2013 B- Features exactly the same products as card A! I used the exact same sketch, DS128.

Christmas2013b

About 4 more, maybe 5 more Christmas cards to share. Check back soon!

Adventure’s Calling

I’ve got some really exciting news to share with everyone. It’s been many years in the making, but I’ve finally decided that it’s time for me to share my passion for stamping and handmade card making. You are looking at Stampin’ Up’s newest Independent Demonstrator!

I’m so excited to bring you the latest and greatest in stamping supplies, products, and card making ideas. I look forward to showing you all the great techniques I’ve picked up over the last 11 years that I have been paper crafting as well as new techniques I will learn from the Stampin’ Up family.

Visit my Stampin’ Up website to place an online order, see my upcoming workshops, or book a party! You’ll also see the great promotions that are being offered right now, including the promotion I took advantage of by joining the Stampin’ Up family for just $25!

Starting Monday my posts will look a little different. I plan to continue to share all of my beautiful creations made with products from some of the other great companies out there, but I will also be sharing my Stampin’ Up Only creations as well. This will hopefully help everyone see how versatile stamping and card making can be.

Thanks for visiting today and I look forward to sharing this great adventure with you all!

With Love

WithLove

I made this card based on a card I had seen many years ago either in a magazine/catalog or on one of the may crafting websites that I visit.  I remember printing off a picture and buying the paper from Stampin’ Up, but I don’t remember making the card. I thought it would be a perfect wedding or anniversary card.

When my friend asked me to make a card for another friends wedding anniversary I knew this would be the perfect card. I used old SU designer paper (I can’t remember the name to save my life), but new SU cardstock and flowers from the pretties kit. In fact this is my first SUO (Stampin’ Up Only) card that I have posted in a long time.

I loved the way it turned out! Thanks for visiting today, stop by tomorrow to see what I have been up too.

Happy Birthday 2 You!

I am super excited to share this card with you today for so many reasons. First, I used supplies from my most recent My Favorite Things Stamps order including their premium die ink which is marvelous. It is comparable to the new SU ink pads, but I like the lower price on the MFT pads better and they match the paper and replenishment’s perfectly. Good job MFT…I’ve been wanted to try the ink for a while now and I am so glad I finally did!

Second, I finally participated in a Seize the Birthday Sketch Challenge! I followed STB16 for this card, but I flipped it upside down. I’m so excited to get the chance to participate. I’m going to use this sketch for a few other cards…not just birthday cards, but I will definitely make a girl birthday card with this sketch to have in my stash. If you haven’t checked out Seize the Birthday I recommend you do, the concept is genius.

ScottyGBirthday

Third, Tuesday (mentioned in Take Time Tuesday, Take 9) was our good friend Scotty G’s birthday! I put this card in the mail the other day so he would get it on time, but I didn’t want to share it before he saw it first (I gave myself a few days just in case). We are so blessed and grateful for all of our friends near and far!

Thanks for visiting today!

Batter Up!

BaseballBoy

For this card I followed one of the Sweet Sunday Sketches I missed. I made this card with no particular recipient in mind, but I really like the way it turned out. I used a bit of patterned paper from one of my new boy themed papers pads from Echo Park and then I created my own patterned paper with the words from the Baseball Boy PI stamp set from MFT and with the dot from an SU stamp set (called Lines and Shadows????).

I used Tigers colors for EVERYTHING! Jordan and I will be heading to our second game of the season tomorrow. I hope the game goes well the Tigers have been on a winning streak!

I know I’ll take pictures tomorrow that I will want to share…hopefully I catch some excitement!
